All attendees and their families should review the Dress Code and Release before attending Snowcoming.
Dress Code & Rules of Conduct
For 2026, please note that attire meeting the dress code will be a REQUIREMENT for entry to the event. We strongly urge guests and families to read the guidelines carefully.
Dress Code
The Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming is a formal occasion.
Young men are expected to wear dress shirts. This means a shirt that buttons down the front and has a collar. Additionally, dress pants are required.
Young ladies are expected to wear formal dresses. The dress should be modest, in good taste, and appropriate in length. Dresses should be no shorter than four (4) inches above the knee with modest slits not going higher than mid-thigh, even if there is a sheer longer layer over the top. Bare stomachs, bare midriffs, immodest necklines, and see-through apparel are not permitted.
If students have any doubt about the appropriateness of their attire, they should ask ahead of the event rather than be placed in the embarrassing situation of being turned away at the door. Email kalamazoohomeschoolsnowco@gmail.com with any attire-related questions.
Rules of Conduct
- Attendees are expected to behave in a mature and dignified manner.
- No inappropriate, disrespectful, or dangerous behavior/dancing.
- No alcohol or drug use.
- If you choose to leave the Snowcoming early, you can not return.
- No refunds will be issued to attendees who are denied entry or removed from the Snowcoming.
The Snowcoming will be a well-chaperoned event and will result in many positive memories for all that attend. Anyone unable to comply with the above policies will be denied admission, could be asked to leave, and parents may be contacted.

Release, Waiver, and Indemnity Agreement
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming event, all participants and volunteers (hereinafter referred to as "Family") agree to the following:
- Family acknowledges admission to Snowcoming requires purchase of a Snowcoming ticket.
- Participants release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue either the Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming, the committee members, the chaperones, or other families participating in the Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming event (hereinafter referred to as "Releasees") from all liability to any Family for any loss or damage and any claim of damage on account of injury to the person or property resulting in the death of a Family member, whether caused by the negligence of Releasees, or otherwise. Family is willingly participating in activities of Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming.
- Family agrees to indemnify Releasees from any loss, liability, damage, or cost Releasees may incur due to the presence of Family in or on the premises of Snowcoming activities.
- Family assumes full responsibility for and risk of bodily injury, death or property damage due to negligence of Releasees or otherwise while in or on the premise of Snowcoming activities and/or while working and participating in the activities of the Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming.
- Family expressly agrees that this release, waiver, and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Michigan, and that if any portion of the agreement is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
- Family, in consideration of being permitted to participate in the Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming, Family, Family's heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, release and forever discharge all Releasees, and their heirs, administrators, and executors of and from any and every claim, demand, action, or right of action, of whatsoever kind of nature, either in law or in equity arising from or by reason of any bodily injury or personal injuries known or unknown, death or property damage resulting or as a result from any accident which may occur as a result of participation in the Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming or any activities in connection with the Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming, whether by negligence or not.
- Family grants to the Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming and its successors and assigns, the right to use and publish for educational or other purposes, photographic likenesses or pictures of Family taken at the Snowcoming or Snowcoming-related events and activities.
- Family releases all officials and professional personnel from any claim whatsoever on account of first aid, treatment, or service rendered to Family during participation in the Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming.
- The parties of this agreement will make every effort to live at peace resolving disputes with each other. Therefore, the parties agree that any claim or dispute arising from or related to this agreement shall be settled in private or by mediation. The parties understand that these methods shall be the sole remedies for any controversy or claim arising out of this agreement or any dispute arising out of any activities or events associated with the Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming event. Parties expressly waive their right to file a lawsuit in any civil court against one another or against another Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming family for such disputes, except to enforce mediation decisions. Both parties enter into this waiver of jury trial and alternative dispute resolution agreement voluntarily, knowingly, and willingly, having had the opportunity to confer with counsel, and choosing to enter into this Agreement, nonetheless.
- This agreement shall be binding on each member of the Family, their personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin.
- This release contains the entire agreement between the parties to this agreement, therefore, the terms of this release are contractual and not a mere recital.
- Family states that both Parents (or Legal Guardians) of Family have carefully read the above release and know the contents of the release and agree to this release as Family's own free act.
- Family understands, acknowledges, and agrees that all purchases are non-refundable and agrees not to dispute the refundability of any purchases made in connection with the Kalamazoo Homeschool Snowcoming.
